DRÖNE started life as a solo project by Markus Byth (Godzilla On Demand) in 2005 focusing on more experimental, drone and ambient sounds under the guise of [mammoth]. The name was quickly changed after releasing the initial To the Shrines demo.
The first full length album release was Colours: Pentapus which was released in 2007 through Polish-based Eris Records.
After a few years and numerous releases through various labels. Markus recruited Scott MacDonald (Deimos) on mainly bass duties in 2013 and quickly hit the studio.
The first release as a two-piece The Ruin of Morning was released in 2013. A 16 minute, single track EP released through Black Winter Recordings.
Work is currently under way for the first full length which is set to be released in 2017.
